Telly's Bike Ride By James Thigpen Jr. | 24"x36" Canvas Print

In 2016 James Thigpen Jr. created Telly's Bike Ride, his introduction to the minimalist style he's most known for. It quickly captured an audience, and solidified his voice in the arts. 

This piece, titled after his close friend, was an homage to his new home of New York where he moved in 2013, quickly discovering that Blacks were far from monolithic. All these cultural nuances, made an impression on Thigpen, and soon he'd begin telling the stories through photo collages, further blurring the lines of art and design.
